Hoi An was similar to La Herradura in the sense that there was a large worldschooling presence and, funny thing is, we actually met some friends from La Herradura here. For the first few days, our hotel was all but empty* so we were bereft of many friendship-making opportunities(fortunately, we did have the aforementioned La Herradura and others from Phu Quoc). We were able to make friends in the various groups and activities in An Bang(a town just outside Hoi An), and Hoi An itself.
* We later discovered this was because the rainy season was not entirely finished so many tourists had yet to arrive.
