We sadly had to leave Tokyo for the time being but luckily, we got to take the Shinkansen. The Shinkansen is a Bullet train that travels all over Japan and goes at nearly 200 kilometres an hour. So in the 3 hours we were on the train we travelled 600 km. We arrived and drove the remaining distance to a remote village in the mountains where a family with two young boys received us and showed us around a century-old traditional Japanese house. We had fun in the number of rooms that made the house seem like a maze and settled in to prepare for a day of hard work the following morning.
